Stevie Pendleton (Doe), age 68, of Ewing, Virginia passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Kindred Acute Care in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on June 5, 1954.
Stevie was a member of both the Elydale Holiness Church and Arthur’s Chapel Holiness Church. He was President of the United Mine Workers, Local 5890 of Hazard, Kentucky and proudly held MET (Mine Emergency Technician) certification.
He leaves behind a loving and devoted wife, Carolyn Pendleton, of Ewing, Virginia; a loving daughter, Julie Annette Pendleton; one son, Joshua David (Jennifer) Pendleton; three grandchildren, Kaitlynn Marie (Dalton) Wright, Joshua Caleb Pendleton, and Josiah Cole Pendleton; two sisters, Brenda (Larry) Owens, and Cindy May; two stepsisters Gloria and Linda; four brothers, Don (Barb) Long, Charles (Audrey Jean) Long, Willard (Norma Jean) Long and Larry Neal.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Elydale Holiness Church from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the Arthur’s Chapel Holiness Church on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon, on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Arthur’s Chapel Holiness Church. Graveside services will immediately follow in the Arthur’s Chapel Cemetery at Rose Hill, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be T. Caleb Hensley, Josh McClain, Robert Dillman, Don Long, Bill Sizemore and Frankie Long.
