Rev. Jay Mason

Rev. Jay Thomas Mason, 46, of Pineville, KY, was called home to be with the Lord, Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Pineville Community Hospital.

Thomas loved the Lord and served him faithfully for 34 years.  He was a devoted minister at the Old Ferndale Missionary Baptist Church.  He had also pastored 2 other churches, Salem Baptist Church in Walton, KY for 4 years and New Hope Baptist Church in Middlesboro for 4 ½ years.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Franklin and Thelma Mason and Clarence and Doxie Raines.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 29 years, Sharon Mason.

His parents: Rev. Clarence and Brenda Mason

His Children: Angela (Jared) Smith, Stephanie (Daryl) Bays and Christina Parker.

Sister: Tina McGeorge

Brother: Timothy Mason

His pride and joy grandbabies: Jayden Lee Smith, Cooper Avery Smith, Landon Jay Parker, Mason Boyd Smith and Liam Thomas Parker.

A very close friend who was like a brother to him: Jon Miller

As well as a host of nieces, nephews and many other friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jared Smith and Rev. Clarence Mason presiding.  Music will be provided by the Old Ferndale Missionary Baptist Church Choir.

Interment will follow in the Mountainview Cemetery at Harrogate, TN.  Pallbearers will be Ron Ayers, Harry Ayers, Jon Miller, Jacob Miller, John Emert and Timothy Mason.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021, at the Cawood Funeral Home.

All Covid Mandates will be observed including masks and social distancing.
