Judy Douglas

Judy L. Douglas is rejoicing in heaven with her loving husband, mother, brothers, and sister.  She left this earthly life suddenly, for her eternal home, on July 9, 2021, at Pineville Community Hospital.  Judy was born in April of 1965, in Lee County, VA.  Her mother, Jessie Long, preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Darrell Gene “Jake” Long, Jerry “Hotshot” Long, one sister, Bonnie Elizabeth “Duke” Long, and stepson Michael Douglas.

Judy married the love of her life, Gary Douglas Sr., in 1984. Gary departed this life on October 31, 2003.  Judy is now reunited with her love in heaven.  Judy is survived by her sons; Gary Douglas, Jr. (LeAnn) of Calvin, KY and Shawn Douglas (LeAnna) of Jacksboro, TN.  Grandchildren: Megan Douglas, Maleah Douglas and Madison Douglas.  Stepchildren: Mark Douglas, Steve Douglas, and Amy Brock Bradley. Sisters: Norma Jean Green (Gary) of Middlesboro, KY; Shirley A. Stephenson (Lee) of Russell Springs, KY; Nora Ruth May of Middlesboro, KY; and JoAnn Crow (Tom) of Speedwell, TN.  Special “Babies”, Margaret & Ariana, who will miss their “JuJu” terribly, and a “special niece and yard sale buddy” Brittany Long in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who mourn her passing.

Anyone who knew Judy, knew the size of her heart.  She gave her all for anyone who needed her, especially her children, grandchildren, and all her bonus babies.  She never met a stranger and would do without to help someone, even if she didn’t know them.  To say she had a big heart would not do her justice.  She was truly an angel on earth for so many.  Her absence from this earthly world will be felt by all who knew and loved her.

The family of Judy Douglas will receive friends on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm.  Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm in the chapel of the Cawood Funeral Home in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Harrogate, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be Eric Lambert, Jordan Lambert, Anthony Cooke, Cameron Widner, Dennis Branum, and Larry England.
