Harrogate, TN

Charles Edward Leach (Charlie Leach), age 73, a resident of Harrogate, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at his home. He was born on August 29, 1947, the son of the late Elmer Leach and Florence Bass. Charlie was a graduate of Middlesboro High School, class of 1965.

Charlie worked over 25 years as a mine worker for various companies through the United Mine Workers of America and was also a top salesman for several mobile home companies in the area.

Charlie enjoyed spending time in the mountains, cheering on his Volunteers, and wrenching on any motor he thought he could make faster.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Sisters, Dorothy Jean Gulley and Joann Carmack; Brothers, Elmer “Slick” Leach, Jr. and James (Jim) Leach and Brother-in-law, Eugene Gulley.

He is survived by the following members of his family:

Partner of 32 years, Janet Webb; Three sons: Dustin Leach (Sarah) of Monroe, MI., Caleb Webb of Harrogate, TN. and Jacob Webb of Harrogate, TN; One daughter: Beckie Walton (Jeremy) of Speedwell, TN; Two Grandchildren: Claire Leach and Charlie Leach of Monroe, MI

Sister and Brother-in-law: Mary Lou (Cecil) McBee of Middlesboro, KY. and Sister-in-law: Joan Leach of Harrogate, TN.

And a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that he loved dearly.

***Due to the continued impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the family has decided to postpone the service to a future date, yet to be determined.  The family would like to thank everyone who has extended their sympathies, support, and prayer.***
