Vickie Lynn Gent

Vickie Lynn Gent, age 76, of Corbin, KY, formerly of Middlesboro, KY, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 11, 1949, in Richmond, VA, to the late William and Ruby Holman Gent.

Vickie was a familiar face to shoppers at the Middlesboro Walmart store where she worked for 30 years, retiring in 2018. In her free time, she loved trying her luck at Bingo, taking part in the Sassy Seniors activities, and cheering on her beloved Kentucky Wildcats. She could also often be found in the stands, supporting her precious girls, granddaughters, Jaslynn and Jaeliana, while they participated in basketball games, swim meets, and band performances. She loved the company of her fur baby, Halo, the last of several she raised over the years. Above all, she relished her role as a devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to those who will miss her most.

In addition to her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by her sister, Eliza Gent; brother, Sam Gent, Gale Gent, Mike Gent, and Richard Gent; and nephew, Mark Hensley.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Toshua (Travis) Harrell; granddaughters, Jaslynn Harrell and Jaeliana Harrell; sister, Sue (Richard) Ellcey; nieces, Lisa Damron and Patty Partin; and beloved fur baby, Halo as well as a host of other family and friends.

The family of Vickie Gent will receive friends on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY.  A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Brother Alva Robinson presiding.
