Vestina Johnson

Vestina Johnson, age 92, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away on February 19, 2019, at the Tri-State Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Harrogate, TN. She was born April 21, 1926, in Middlesboro, KY, the daughter of the late Andrew Johnson and Elizabeth Rainey Johnson. She had been a member of the Salvation Army since 1932. In prior years, she had worked faithfully at Martin Brothers Manufacturing, John’s Store and Roses.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by five brothers, Billy Johnson, Sherman Johnson, Estil Johnson, Mack Johnson and Alonzo Johnson; four sisters, Rosa Parsons, Dora Kingsbury, Henrietta Johnson and Juletha Fuson.

She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, her Salvation Army family and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Lt. Ken Griffey, Jr. and Major Darrell Kingsbury officiating. Music will be provided by Norman Marcum. Interment will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 12:00 noon at the Yellow Hill Cemetery in Middlesboro, KY. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
