Travis Aaron Hensley, age 39, of Harrogate, Tennessee, passed away on May 13, 2023, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky, on January 6, 1984 to the late James H. Hensley and Teresa Smith Hensley.
Travis loved making those around him smile. He wanted everyone to be happy. He enjoyed time spent outdoors especially going fishing and playing basketball. He was always on the lookout for rare items to collect.
In addition to his father, Travis was preceded in death by his sister, Katrina Hensley; paternal grandparents, James S. and Oma Hensley; maternal grandparents, Joe Smith, Jr. and Genetta Prater; and aunt, Gwendolyn Smith.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted mother, Teresa Hensley of Harrogate, Tennessee; daughter, Trinity Erin Wagner; son, Tucker Aaron Thompson; loyal sister, Amy (Craig) Thompson, of Bristol, Virginia; loving brother, Brian Hensley, of Harrogate, Tennessee; nieces, Megan Thompson and Breanna Standifer; nephews, Sean Neary, Shane Neary, Austin Thompson, Braxton Thompson, and Brenan Neary; aunts, Kim Smith, Tammy Williams, and Barbara Pace; and uncle William "Willie" Hensley.
Visitation for Travis Aaron Hensley will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Arthur's Chapel Poor Valley Church, Rose Hill, Virginia. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Poor Valley Church, Rose Hill, Virginia with Reverend Richard Long presiding and with a special speaker, Larry Long. Music will be provided by the Poor Valley Church choir.
A graveside service will be held following the funeral service at Hensley Cemetery in Caylor, VA.
It is requested that women planning to attend any of the services for Travis Aaron Hensley, wear skirts or dresses.
