Tommy Eugene Howerton, age 81, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Middlesboro, KY after a brief illness. He was born January 21, 1942, to the late Charlie and Florence Howerton.
Tommy was an Army veteran of Vietnam, who never stopped serving his country. He took great pride in being a veteran, from decorating graves, being a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 14 where he served as Commander for 20 years, to performing many military funerals of which many were friends.
As much as he loved his country, he also loved his family…never failing to provide for us as best he could! He will be dearly missed!
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a niece, Mindy Arnett of Harrogate, TN, and twin stepdaughters, Mary and Carrie Wallace of Middlesboro, KY.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Pamela Adams (Wallace) Howerton of Middlesboro, KY; his sister, Evelyn Arnett of Harrogate, TN; his son, Donnie Howerton of TN; niece and nephew, Rhonda and Marvin Arnett of Harrogate, TN; and three grandsons, Anthony, Tyler and Matthew Wallace of Middlesboro, KY.
Special thanks to Cawood Funeral Home for their kindness and compassion; to Kroger employees and Mr. Vanover for their contributions, and to special friends, Theresa Brown Thomas and Shari Mason, we couldn’t have gotten through these days without your love, help and always lending a helping hand.
