Susan Damron May

Susan Damron May, age 61, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026,at Laurel Heights in London, Kentucky surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Harlan, Kentucky, on August 23, 1964, to Silas and Frances Damron.

Susan was a 1982 graduate of Middlesboro High School. She was well known for working at Frog’s 7-11 during high school and continuing after graduation. Anyone who knew Susan knew she was one of the biggest Tennessee Volunteers fans around. She loved the ocean and nothing brought her more joy than her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Frances Damron; her husband, David May; her brother, Dave Damron; and her nephew, Jesse Damron.

Susan is survived by her children, Jennifer (Charlie) Lambert, Derek Hatfield, Rachel Money, and Brandi (Josh) Lambert; her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mammaw Rose”, Taegan Brooks, Rylee Hubick, Nashawn (SamiBeth Miller) Brooks, Blake Lambert, Maylea Lambert, Jackson Hatfield, Brody Lambert, Kacey Lambert, Creed Lambert, and Toby Money; a grandson in her heart, Will Bailey; her great-grandchild, Ace Brooks; her siblings, Silas Ray (Tracy) Damron, Elizabeth Coleman, and Rebecca Radmard; and a special niece, Nikki Damron, along with a host of amazing nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the incredible staff and administrators at Laurel Heights Senior Living, Shepherd’s Cove, especially nurses Laura and Tina and social worker Carley, for their compassionate care

.A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Susan Damron May will be held on Sunday, March 29,2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro,KY.

Interment will be private.
