Stella Rose Evans

Stella Rose Evans, age 99, of Middlesboro, KY, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 24, 2026, while surrounded by the love of her dear family.

She was born on December 18, 1926, the daughter of the late William and Ida Owens. In addition to her parents, she was reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of 51 years, McCoy Evans, and children, Jean Kelley, Jerry Evans, Doris Ann Muarry, and Vanessa Evans.

Stella was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother; always showering her family with tender love and care. She loved being surrounded by her loved ones and Sunday dinner with family and friends.

Stella loved the Lord with all her heart and was saved at an early age. She loved going to church when she was able to attend. Her legacy and love will live on through her large family and the many generations that all started because of the love of McCoy and Stella.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Davd and Linda Evans of Gentry, Arkansas, Charles Evans, of Harrogate, TN, Billy Evans of North Carolina, Nancy Wright, of Liberty, KY, Kathleen Johnson, of Flat Lick, KY, and Patricia and Edward Hall of Middlesboro, KY. She was blessed with 10 Children, 48 Grandchildren, 64 Great-Grandchildren, and 10 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Middlesboro ARH Hospital, and Bluegrass Care Navigators for their excellent care and love to Stella during her illness.

The family of Stella Evans will receive friends on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Rice presiding. Music will be provided by Jason Evans, Wanda Messer, and the Friendship Church Singers.

At the conclusion of the funeral service, family and friends will travel in procession to Johnson Cemetery, Middlesboro, KY, where graveside services will be held.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Wright, David Wright, Scotty Wright, Joseph Harrell, Alex Evans, and Eric Mittelstadt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Samantha Emert, Edward Hall, and Charles David Evans.
