Sara Lou Hatfield, 88, of Frakes KY, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 25, 2026. She was born on January 2, 1938, in KayJay, KY, to the late Tom Sewell Miracle and Dora Jane Osborne Miracle.
Sara was a member of New Vine Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted and wonderful wife and mother. Sara enjoyed sewing, canning and visiting the thrift store. Her favorite thing was doting over her kids and grandkids. She loved buying and giving to others. Until her last days, she wanted to make sure that everyone was fed. You knew that no matter who walked through the door they’d be loved and leave with a full belly.
Sara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Willie; two grandchildren, James and Dora Marie Hatfield; one son-in-law, Perry Cobb; three brothers, Gary, Dennis, and Wayland Miracle; and one sister, Ruby Maiden.
Sara is survived by her loving children, Jennifer Cobb of Powell TN, Randal (Charlotte) Hatfield of Frakes KY, Lisa (Junior) Maiden of Middlesboro KY, and Jessica (Snoopy) Jones of Frakes KY; grandchildren, Perry Lynn (Melanie) Cobb, Travis (Carrie) Cobb, Randi (Jeromy) Collins, Isaac (Brittney) Maiden, Rachel (Emily) Ball-Maiden, and Shelton (Alexis) Jones; twelve great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eliza Wilson and Betty (Clifford) Maiden; three brothers, Willard (Freda) Miracle, Raleigh (Barb) Miracle, and Eddie Ray (Carol) Miracle; and special sisters-in-law, Faye Miracle, Judy (Sam) Partin, Vanessa (Rickie) Dixon, Clara (Phillip) Miracle, Jenny Miracle, and Violet Miracle. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the New Vine Missionary Baptist Church, Frakes, KY, with Rev. Lee Mahan and Clifford Maiden presiding. Music will be provided by the New Vine Missionary Baptist Church Choir, great-granddaughter, Katherine Cobb, and Pastor Scott Collett.
Interment will follow in the New Vine Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
