Ruth Campbell
September 21, 1941 — October 10, 2019
Ruth Anne McCallister Campbell, age 78, passed away October 10, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Sod, West Va. Sept. 21, 1941 to Melba Meridyth Neal McCallister and Raymond Earl McCallister.
After a brief courtship, she married Jack Campbell in Charleston, SC. on May 19, 1959. She became a mother and made her family and home her life where she nurtured and cared for her children and gardens. They started their life in Florida and TN and spent the last 36 years on their farm here in Bell Co. raising children, grandchildren and her very loved flowers.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Denver McCallister, Duane McCallister and Dwight McCallister. Survived by brother Douglas McCallister, sisters Helen Lawson and Jewell Kirk.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Jack Campbell and children, Lori Campbell, Gordon Campbell, Lisa Campbell-Messer (Gary Messer), Jack Earl Campbell and Leslie Campbell-Risner (William-Stacy Risner). Thirteen beloved grandchildren, Jordan Campbell, Stephen Wilson (Kristin Wilson), Megan Jernigan, Josh Campbell (Christa Campbell), Ian Wilson, Logan Campbell (Shelby Garrett), Wilson Jernigan, Lucas Campbell, Collin Jernigan, Ethan Risner, Liam Risner, Seth Risner, Avery Risner. Great Grandchildren: Evan, Ava, Jesse, Jenna, Mason, Everett.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Campbell Farm on Hwy 988.
