Roy Edward Weatherford

Roy Edward Weatherford, age 61, of Speedwell, TN, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 5, 2026. Born March 7, 1965, the son of Roy Walter Weatherford and Binnie Star Parker.

Ed was a true lover of God’s creations. An avid outdoorsman, he found great joy in hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening, and hunting for ginseng. He cherished his time spent in nature, using those quiet moments to reflect on his relationship with God and to grow closer to the Lord.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Walter Weatherford and Binnie Star Parker.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 35 years, Lisa Sneed Weatherford; his sons, Christopher Edward (Karissa) Weatherford and Joshua Walter Weatherford; his daughter, Laura Bea Weatherford (Austin) Oney; his grandchildren, Austin Garcia, Jaxin Garcia, Malachi Oney, Sapphira Oney and Abrum Oney; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss him dearly.

Ed’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Beacon Hospice, Claiborne Primary Care, Dr. Nicole Shields, and nurse Andrew for the compassionate care they provided. The family also extends a special thank you to Don and Annetta Bannister, New Beginning Baptist Church, Cawood Funeral Home, and their many loved ones and friends for the immense love, support, and comfort given during this difficult time.

A gathering of friends for Ed will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the New Beginning Baptist Church in Cumberland Gap, TN.

A celebration of life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Andrew Ditty and Reverend Don Bannister presiding.
