Rick Christopher Kevin Lasley, age 67, born June 19, 1953 in Bell County Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020.
Rick served in the United States Coast Guard from July 1976 – November 1981 on the CG MSO Huntington, the CG STA Calumet HBR and CGC Sundew. Served as a Lighthouse Keeper in the Chicago bay area.
Before his service in the Coast Guard, Rick received a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science w/minor in Biology, Associate’s Degree at Watterson College in Computer Programming and an Associate’s Degree at Metridata Institute/Watterson College in Business Administration.
Rick was awarded the West Virginia “Ambassador of Good Will Among All People” from the Secretary of State in Charleston, WV in 1980.
The son of the late Eula Gray Lasley of Middlesboro, Kentucky.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers George Mitchell Lasley, Cecil Villa Lasley an sister Sandra Faye Hurst, Aunt Jewel Pritchard, Aunt Goldie Sutton, and Uncle Ira Hill.
Survivors include Brothers Kenneth Lasley of Monroe, NC, Terry Lee Lasley (Jan) of Tazewell, Tn, and Keith Lasley of Hurst Texas. Sisters include Carolyn Glasscock, Monroe, NC. Mary Lasley, Middlesboro, Ky. Twin Sister Vickie Guy (Wilburn), Middlesboro, Ky. and Joy Clark (Dan) of Tazewell, Tn. Along with a blessed amount of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special mention of a dear Friend and confidant, Charlie Bias of Middlesboro, Ky.
Only one lady other than his mother to capture his heart would be a special great niece, Sydney Grace Cox of Tazewell, Tn.
Friends and Family will gather at Cawood Funeral Home in Middlesboro, Ky. Tuesday, September 29th, 2020 between 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Private Graveside Service will be held at England Cemetery, Harrogate, TN on Wednesday September 30th, 2020.
