Melisa Jay Langley

Melisa Jay Langley, age 59, of Rose Hill, VA, passed away on October 26, 2026.  She was born on September 6, 1967, in MIddlesboro, KY, to Enos and Elizabeth Hensley, who preceded her in death.  

Melisa worked as a special education teacher for the Lee County Virginia School System for over 30 years.  Her extraordinary kindness touched the lives of her students, family, and friends.  She was a beloved sister, aunt, and great-aunt and a friend to many.  

In addition to her parents, Melisa was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd B. Langley.  

Melisa is survived by her sisters, Connie Hensley and Diana Dillman (Robert); niece, Mary-Elizabeth Taylor (Chris); and two great-nephews, Christopher Phillip Taylor and Charlie Eugene Taylor, all of Rose Hill, VA.  

The family of Melisa Langley will receive friends on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Long, Rev. Steven Vaughn, and Brother Mark Long presiding.  Music will be provided by the Arthur's Chapel Holiness Church choir.    

Graveside services for Melisa Langley will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Arthur's Chapel Cemetery, Rose Hill, VA.
