Matthew Ryan Gibson

March 23, 1983 — April 28, 2025

London, KY

Matthew Ryan "Booger" Gibson, aged 42 of London KY and Campbell County TN, was suddenly and tragically called home to be with the Lord on April 28th, 2025, at the LaFollette Medical Center in Campbell County after a long battle with addiction. Matthew Ryan was born in the Norwood community of Cincinnati Ohio, on March 23rd, 1983. Matthew was the son of the late Michael and Donna Gibson. Matthew was a loving husband, father, brother, friend, cousin, nephew and absolute everything. He was amazing in every aspect of every single way and was loved, so very loved, even when he didn't think he was. Matthew was a stay at home Dad, soaking up the love his children had to share with him. He was their favorite person. Being a diehard UK fan, Matthew Ryan would watch his team as often as he could find a game on.

In addition to his tragic passing, Matthew followed behind his parents Donna and Michael Gibson, cousin Roger "Oggie" Singleton, Jr. and special friends, Randy Allen King and Keith Nelson.

Left behind to cherish the memory of their most favorite person in the world include his loving wife of almost 14 years, Allison Brooke Gibson; children, Matthew Brandon Gibson, John Ryan Gibson, and Charlotte Elizabeth Gibson; brothers, William Michael Gibson Jr. and Cameron Allen Gibson; aunts, Angela "Angie" Hubbard and Ella Hubbard; special friend, Jimmy McCullough; and a host of many other friends and family who loved him.

Matthew's light will forever shine bright through his family, friends, and all who loved him. He was an amazing husband and father, even when he didn't think he was. His demons took control, no matter how hard he tried to fight them. He will forever be missed by the people that love him most. He wanted to live. He wanted to fight his fight and overcome the battles that were placed in front of him. He had a heart of gold and the best personality of anyone you could ever meet. He was funny, kind, and so loving. He never met a stranger and would give you the shirt right off his back. He was and always will be an amazing human.

Silence about addiction would mean that Matthew's death was in vain, but if one person's life is saved by his story, I would tell it a million more times. Matthew struggled, so hard. He fought so hard and in the end, he battled his last battle. He is free now and in a body that no longer harbors addiction or pain. He is better now and no longer plagued with sickness or the struggles that came with addiction. Our lost boy is finally found. Long Live Matthew Ryan Gibson, forever in our hearts.

I love you, whole biggens....no littlens.

At Matthew Ryan Gibson's request, he will be cremated and all services will be private.
