Joseph (Joe) Frank Hunt, age 66, affectionally known as “Joe Frank Daddy Rabbit Hunt,” passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Formerly a resident of Bell County, Kentucky, Joe was born on November 19, 1959, to the late Jesse and Johnnie Hunt.
Joe was a man of profound faith who loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He never met a stranger and took great joy in sharing God's word. Joe had a servant's heart and always wanted to make sure everyone knew the Lord. It was common to see him pull out his small Bible to read a verse or two to anyone who crossed his path.
He had a deep passion for music. From his teenage years until his final days, he enjoyed everything from rock 'n' roll and country to gospel, so much so that he began playing the guitar. Above all, Joe cherished his family. He shared a very special bond with his nephew, Mike Hunt. He treasured their time spent together, especially when they were sharing a meal at KFC.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Jess Hunt Jr., Richard Hunt, Carl Hunt and Allen Hunt; and his sister, Mary Hunt.
He is survived by his sister, Judy (Stewart) Bryant of Middlesboro, KY; his brother, Lindsey (Toot) Hunt of Frankfort, KY; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A memorial service honoring Joe’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Fuson Chapel Church at Little Clear Creek, Pineville, KY, with Reverend David Fuson, Jr. (DeeDee) presiding. Special music will be provided by Thomasa Risner.
Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Joe’s life.
