Jay Douglas Lake, age 70, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at his home. He was born on February 3, 1955, in Middlesboro, KY, to Forrester and Fannie Lake, who preceded him in death.
Jay loved heading into the surrounding mountains to enjoy the peacefulness they offered while hoping for a chance to feed the wild horses that roamed the area. He was a man who never met a stranger and always enjoyed a good conversation.
Jay is survived by his children, Crystal Fuson, John Fuson, and Estill Middleton; brother, Earl Lake; sisters, Ruby McFarland and Betty Houston; and special friends, Mike Marcum, Gary Bo, and Mary Jackson.
A graveside service for Jay Lake will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, KY, in the Mausoleum with Reverend Paul Gilbert presiding.
