Greg Maiden

Greg (Gregory) Keith Maiden, age 57, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away June 26th, 2025. Born on January 12, 1968, in Pineville, KY, he was raised by his loving mother, Margaret Ann Maiden.

In addition to his mother and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Penny Cantrell, and brother-in-law, Larry Cantrell.

During his life, Greg enjoyed his years coaching and helping with Middlesboro Tball/Little League, volunteering at his children’s school, Middlesboro Elementary, and enjoying UK athletics, fishing, watching Andy Griffith re-runs (even knowing the season and episode number by heart), classic rock, and Friday night card games with his friends. Greg was a devoted father and grandfather of three beautiful grandchildren. He cherished every moment watching his grandbabies run through the yard and destroying his home with toys.

He is survived by his family: daughter, Kaitlin Maiden; son, Anthony (Lauren) Maiden; sisters, Sherry (Curt) Knuckles and Christie (Vijay) Alagarraj; grandchildren, Asher Maiden, Margot Willis, and Daisy Maiden; nieces and nephews, Marissa Cantrell, Cameron (Kayla) Rancher, Nick (Raygen) Cantrell, and Amara Alagarraj; great-niece and nephew, Grayson Rancher and Peyton Cantrell; and life-long friends, Dan Smith, Doug Roper, Dewayne Bussell, and Eli Wilson.

When you can’t control the situation given to you, you control the outcome. Greg was the epitome of don’t give up. He lived his life to the fullest even when told he wouldn’t be able to. Greg will be remembered for his contagious smile, witty personality, and the best sense of humor.

A celebration of life will be held for Greg Maiden on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. Friends and family planning to attend are asked to dress casually and, if possible, wear the colors of the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets or Kentucky Wildcats to honor his love for both teams.
