Georgia Jeanette Yeary Chadwell

Georgia Jeanette Yeary Chadwell, age 96, of Ewing, VA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 8, 1928, in Ewing, VA, to the late Joe H. and Gracie Martin Yeary.

Georgia was longtime employee of People’s Bank of Ewing, VA, where she served as Vice-President and Branch Manager of the Rose Hill branch, from which she retired in 1991. She was a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star #170 of Rose Hill, VA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ewing, VA. Georgia’s happiest days were those spent on her beloved farm. She relished time spent rocking or swinging on her porch, taking in the view of the land which included the cattle she raised and flowers she tended. Georgia leaves behind her greatest treasure, her four sons and their families, who will miss her most.

In addition to her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Sherriff R. V. Chadwell.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Greg (Marilyn) Chadwell, Kevin (Charlotte) Chadwell, Craig (Sally) Chadwell, and Kelly Chadwell (Brock Wampler); grandchildren, Jennifer Kristin Chadwell (Jamie Sullivan), Thomas “Toby” Robert (Marianne) Chadwell, Kari Ann (Michael) Lett, Stacey Nicole (Joshua) DeHart, Ariel Brooke Chadwell, Alyssa Bliss Chadwell (Amanda Murray), Lauren Kelli Chadwell, and Arthur Lucas (Alexis) Chadwell; great-grandchildren, Grace Chadwell, Freddie Chadwell, David Chadwell, Addyson DeHart, Mason Lett, Charlie Jo Bliss Price, Ayden Weaver, Averie Weaver, Carter Chadwell, and Hudson Chadwell; father of Ayden and Averie Weaver, Johanthan Weaver; special friend, Debbie Cheek; special caregiver (and granddaughter), Ariel, and special friend and caregiver, Denise Yeary as well as a host of other family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Caris Healthcare, Dr. Adam Yeary, Ashley Hill, RN, and Kim Large for the compassionate care they provided to Georgia.

The family of Georgia Chadwell will receive friends on Monday, August 25, 2025, form 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. An Order of the Eastern Star Funeral Ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow with Rev. Jack Chadwell presiding.

Family and friends will meet at Cawood Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 10:15 a.m. to travel in procession to Jones Cemetery, Ewing, VA, where graveside services will be held.

Pallbearers will be Paul Harris, Greg Wheeler, Gary Crockett, Toby Chadwell, Josh DeHart, Michael Lett, Brock Wampler, and Fred McCurry.
