Fr. Kiran Varaparla

Fr. Kiran Kumar Varaparla, 39, parish priest of St. Julian Catholic Church in Middlesboro, KY and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Pineville, KY, passed away suddenly on October 31, 2021 at the Middlesboro ARH.

He was born May 1, 1982 in Mangapuram, Khammam, Telagana, India.  He was a member of the Missionary Society of the Heralds of Good News.  He was ordained as a priest on April 19, 2010.

He is survived by his father, Apparao Varaparla and his mother, Kanakaratnam Varaparla.

A brother, Kishore Varaparla

A sister, Vasantha Varaparla all of whom reside in India.

His passing will also be mourned by his many friends as well as his current and past parishioners.

Visitation will be held at from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, at the St. Julian Catholic Church.

The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. with funeral mass following.  Mass will be officiated by Bishop John Stowe.

A visitation will also take place from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, November 4, at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Lexington, KY.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 5, at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Lexington, KY, with Bishop John Stowe officiating.

He will be returned to his family in India for interment there.
