Francis "Fran" Leon Marsee

Francis "Fran" Leon Marsee, age 66, of Middlesboro, KY, entered his Heavenly home on Saturday, March 21, 2026. He was born in Middlesboro, KY, on October 26, 1959, to Florence Yates Marsee and the late William Atkins Marsee.

Fran retired from La-Z-Boy Furniture in Tazewell, TN, after a 30-year career as a truck driver. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, heading into the mountains to ride or settling near a favorite fishing spot to wait for a bite.

In addition to his father, Fran was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Nicole Cage Carden; and brother, Joseph Henry Marsee.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, David Ray Marsee of Middlesboro, KY and Sheena Renee (Shane) Carden of LaFollette, TN; grandchildren, Shontel Marsee, Mackenzie Marsee, Haley Marsee, Angela Marsee, Tristan Carden and Charlotte Carden; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Dowden, Ryker Daugherty, Token Fisher and Atticus Marsee; mother, Florence Yates Marsee; brothers, William Allen Marsee and Jeffery Lynn Marsee; sisters, Rachel (Willard) Laws, Ella Marie Marsee (Pete Shumacher) and Alice Jane Webb (Danny Webb); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family of Francis “Fran” Leon Marsee will receive friends on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Mitchell Nash presiding and Reverend Shaun Turner officiating.

At the conclusion of the funeral service, family and friends will travel in procession to Marsee Cemetery, Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, Middlesboro, KY, where graveside services will be held. Pallbearers will be Caleb Daughtery, Austin Daughtery, Jonathan Marsee, Joseph Marsee, Alen Corrender and Shane Carden.
