Frances Whisenant Brown Rodgers got her wings and went to meet her Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the age of 82, at Middlesboro ARH. She was born on August 21, 1942, in Alabama. She loved the Lord and loved her family.
Frances was baptized at an early age and was a member of The Church of the True Living God of Holiness.
In addition to her parents, William Whisenant and Clara Smith, Frances was preceded in death by her husbands, Jake Brown, Jr., and Lonnie Rodgers; daughters, Sheryl Claycomb and Tammy Harris; and grandchildren, Ricky Harris, Jr., Anthony Taylor, Tyler Brown, and Millie Patterson.
She leaves to mourn her passing the following members of her family, daughters, Lisa Brown Patterson (James) and LaHoma Brown Maiden; son and caregiver, Rodderic Brown; 9 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Robert Whisenant and Curtis Whisenant; special cousin, Jackie Croft; special friends, Peggy Rainey and Mary Cocker; caregiver, Nathaniel McCarty, who was like a son to her; and her fur baby, Roxi; as well as many other beloved family members and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. C.A. Moore and his staff, and the staff at ARH Home Health for the care they provided during her final moments.
The family of Frances Rodgers will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Tony Frances presiding. Music will be provided by Sandra Johnson, Patty Bartow, Elizabeth Buis, and Shanita Kelly.
At the conclusion of the funeral service, family and friends will travel in procession to Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, where graveside services will be held.
Pallbearers will be Darryl Smith, John L. Cox, Mandy Keck, Lisa Patterson, Misty Hampton, Nathaniel McCarty, and Roderric Brown.
There will be a repass following the graveside service at The Rendevous Event Center located at 223 West Chester Avenue, Middlesboro, KY 40965.
