Edward Lee Simpson

Edward Lee Simpson, age 57, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, September 10, 2026. He was born December 4, 1968, the cherished son of the late Everett Samuel and Frances Lucille Daniels Simpson.

Lee was known for his kind heart, his easygoing nature, and the quiet strength he offered to those around him. He was happiest when spending simple, quality time with his family, sharing a good laugh with friends, and watching his grandchildren grow.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Samuel Simpson and Frances Lucille Daniels Simpson.

Lee was a devoted family man who centered his life around those he loved. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Donna Hamblin Hoover; his sons, Shaun Simpson, and Cody Simpson; and his stepchildren, Louann Napier Hoover and Shyann Hamblin.  He was a proud grandfather to his special grandchildren, Gunner and Abby Napier, and Raylynn and Bentley Hamblin, who brought immense joy to his life.

He is also survived by his sister, Connie Lynn Frost; his brother, Matthew James (Jeanette) Simpson; and his best friend, Frank Brock as well as a large host of beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Lee's warmth, laughter, and steady presence leave a void that can never be filled, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
