Conley Hensley

Conley Hensley, age 92, of Harrogate, TN, passed away at his home on Monday, October 5, 2026, with his daughters, Sandra, Marlene and Rhonda and his grandchildren, Brad (Sally), Emily and Kendra by his side. Conley was born August 4, 1934, on top of the Brush Mountain at the Hensley Settlement in Bell County, KY, to the late Finley and Minnie Trent Hensley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Anna Mae Wilder Hensley; his precious daughter, Miranda Proctor (Bill); brothers, Buford Hensley, Lewis B. Hensley, Charles Hensley and Robert Hensley; sisters, Faye Pittman, Ella Mae Smallman, Wilma Jean Cupp and Mildred Boatright; brothers-in-law, Ray Smallman and J.C. Pittman; and sisters-in-law, Sandy Hensley and Wanda Hensley.

He is survived by his children, Sandra Wilder (Hershel), Conley Allen (Cheri), Marlene Galbraith (Dave), and Rhonda Muncy (David); grandchildren, Bradley (Sally) and Emily Trammel, Kendra Overton (Jason), Timothy Hensley (Cory), Anthony Hensley (Ashley) and Robbie Hensley (Sandy); great-grandchildren, Jaylen and Kenley Overton, Jack and Henry Trammel and Jackson, Alexandra, Isla, Eliana, Hazel, Helaena, and Hailey Hensley.

He is also survived by his sister, Louise Wilder (Billy Joe); brothers, Wallace Hensley, Howard Hensley (Dorothy), and Don Hensley (Pauline); and many family and friends who were special to him.

Conley hired in at General Motors in 1952 and retired in 1982. He loved to work and was proud of his record, having only been late one day in 30 years because his alarm got turned off! He loved to work on cars and help anyone who needed help, especially on building projects.

At 92 years, Conley had an amazing memory and had memories from the age of 2 years old. He could recall every car he owned, make and model.

Conley loved to tell about his childhood at Hensley Settlement and he had many good memories to share about living there.

His family would like to express appreciation to Dr. Lee’s Office, his longtime doctor, Dr. Epperson and his wife Lisa, and for Amedisys Hospice and everyone who had a part in Conley’s care, especially his special nurse, Bailey Salas, who would go beyond what she had to do to help in any way.

The family of Conley Hensley will receive friends on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Roger Hoskins presiding. Music will be provided by Jaylen Overton, David Muncy and Reverend Tim and Tammie Charles.

Graveside services for Conley will be private. Pallbearers will be Bradley Trammel, Jason Overton, Dave Hardy, Joe Miracle, Floyd “Bull” Cupp, Jr., Reverend Tim Charles and Billy Hensley.
