Charles W. Wright, Jr.

Charles W. Wright, Jr., age 77, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Middlesboro ARH Hospital, Middlesboro, KY. He was born on December 2, 1948, in Middlesboro, KY to the late Charles, Sr. and Ruby Wilson Wright.

Charles spent 30 years working as a coal miner, a testament to his strength and dedication. He loved the outdoors and was a loyal Kentucky Wildcats fan, always enjoying a good game. Above all, he was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. His life was defined by hard work, love for his family, and the simple things he enjoyed most.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Farmer, son-in-law, Michael Allen Partin; brothers, Raymond Wright and William “Billy” Wright; and sister, Brenda Maxwell.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Alice Wright; daughter, Charlene Partin; son, Charles R. Wright; grandchildren, Melissa, Bobby, Michelle, Sean, Scotty, Matthew, Timmy, and Charles T.; and nine great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Middlesboro ARH Hospital and Bluegrass Care Navigators for their wonderful care.

The family of Charles Wright will receive friends on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY.

Following the visitation, family and friends will travel in procession to Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, KY, where graveside services will be held.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
