Charles Lee Evans

Charles "Charlie" Lee Evans, age 69, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington, KY, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 8, 1954, in Speedwell, TN, to Odus and Betty Lois Good Evans. 
 
Charlie had a great love for the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing and hunting in the beautiful mountains he called home. Whether he was casting his line into a tranquil lake or tracking game through the woods, he found solace and happiness in nature's landscapes.  In addition to his outdoor pursuits, Charlie had a fondness for coffee that was unmatched.  His day always began with a steaming cup, enjoyed on his porch in the peace and quiet of the early morning.   He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved canine companions.  Through the years, they were constant sources of joy bringing warmth to his days with their unconditional love.  Beyond his interests lay Charlie's greatest treasure: his family.  He was a devoted husband and loving father to his children.  Spending time with his family was his greatest pleasure.
 
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Odus Evans and brothers, Tim Evans and Mike Evans.
 
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth McManaway Evans; his only son, Christopher Allen Evans of Richmond, KY; daughters, Rebecca Charles Evans of Bardstown, KY and Sara Elizabeth Evans (Casey Combs)  of Wellington, KY; mother, Betty Lois Good; aunts, Edna Good, Bertie Good, and Glenda Owens; fur-baby, Little Girl; special friends, Grizz and Tiwani Grimm, Dan and Tammy Peters, Byron Owens, and Robbie Shackleford as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
 
The family of Charles "Charlie" Lee Evans will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY.
