Buffy Sainte-Marie Dunnaville

Buffy Sainte-Marie (Newsome) Dunnaville received her wings and went to meet her heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington, KY. She was born on March 11, 1970 in Kingsport, TN. She loved the Lord, her family, her White Memorial Church Family, and all those of the household of faith.

She was preceded in death by her “proud” grandparents, Rev. & Mrs. M.E. Dunnaville, her stepfather, Ashley Johnson, Jr., her stepsister, Antionette Johnson, and her nephew, Trayvon M. Dunnaville. 

She leaves to mourn in her passing the following: mother, Romell Johnson; daughter, Keiara Newsome and son, Bryan Newsome; sister, Gabrielle Hopson; brother, Christopher & Tibitha Dunnaville; nephews and nieces: Latasha, Christopher, Aja, Christopher, and Hannah; youngest great-nephew, Mason Trayvon; and favorite aunties, Mildred Gilbert and Susie Hall, along with many other beloved family members. Also left to mourn, her lifetime friends including but not limited to: Dr. Anthony Maxwell & Joe, Steve, Kyra, Roxanne, Audra, Roger, Shae, Shelly, Theresa, Shirley, Joy, Rhonda, Stacey, Kim, Nini, Anne, Deanna, Alvenia, Dionne, Tiffani, Jordan, Jeanette, Claire, Dr. Martha Combs-Woolum and The Grier Heights Church Family and The Cherished White Memorial AME Zion Church Family.

The family of Buffy Dunnaville will receive friends on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Middlesboro Schools Central Auditorium, Middlesboro, KY. 

A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 p.m.
