Bobbie Jean Robinson Smith left this world on December 10, 2022 to be with our Heavenly Father and to once again be with her beloved son, David Lee and to join the rest of our loved ones who have gone on before.
At the age of 85, Bobbie had many precious years to share here with all her family and friends. She was born in Middlesboro, KY on September 20, 1937 to the late Roy and Mary Robinson. May she rest in peace as she watches over those of us who remain behind. Our journey without her will be difficult but she will be gently nudging us along with the help of David and the Angels.
Bobbie had a kind and generous heart. Many family and friends have been fortunate to have been on the receiving end of her generosity. How blessed we are to have that beautiful memory.
During her 85 years here with us she became a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a mamaw, a great-grandmother, an aunt and a friend. We were all fortunate to have had her in our lives. She was also a hard worker and she was extremely disappointed when she was no longer able to continue, having retire in the early days of 2019 at age 81. Her work ethic was phenomenal, a trait that was passed on to her children by her example. She believed that no task should be done halfway. It was done right and done to best of her ability. She instilled this in her children as well. She will be missed and will be always and forever in the hearts of all of us who have known her and loved her all of our lives.
In addition to her mother and father, Bobbie was preceded in death by her son David Lee Smith, her siblings Alva Floyd Robinson, Charles Robinson, Frank Robinson and Irene Earle as well as some nieces and nephews and her oldest and dearest friend Miss Betty Chadwell.
Left behind to journey on is her son Wendell Gene Mays and wife Carolyn, her daughter and caregiver for her last six years, Brenda (Kat) Mayer, brothers Carl Robinson and wife Evelyn Sue, Wayne Robinson and wife Carol, and Jimmy Robinson and wife Sue, four adoring grandchildren Warren Mayer, Brandon Mayer, Eric (Josh) Mays, and Ayla Mays; eight beautiful great grandbabies Jonathan Maupin Jr., Caleb Mays, Oliver Mays, Renly Mays, Kyliegh Jo Subia- Mayer, Leland Subia-Mayer, Tillie Subia-Mayer and Cheedon (shay dun) Mayer.
So let’s all gather together to send her off and to celebrate the AUTHENTIC person that she was!! Hallelujah!!!
