Barbara Slusher

January 19, 1953 — October 24, 2019

Mrs. Barbara Ann Slusher, age 66, of Hulen, Kentucky passed away on Thursday October 24, 2019. She was a beloved wife, mother, “Nanny”, sister, aunt, and friend. A devoted wife for 47 years and loving mother to 2 children. Her love for helping people was evident through her life’s work as a nurse, caring and treating the people of Southeastern Kentucky through the office of Dr. Steven K. Morgan. She truly enjoyed sharing her love for the Lord and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Hester and Challis Smith and mother and father in law Rufus and Loretta Slusher.

She is survived by her loving husband, Johnny Ray Slusher, SR.; son Johnny Ray Slusher JR (Stephanie) of Knoxville, TN ; daughter Michelle Goodin (Tony) of Port Orange, FL; granddaughter Allie Goodin Rimel (Lance) of Bristol, FL; brother Glen Smith (Carlene) of Illinois; brother Dennis Smith (Susan) of North Carolina; sister Debbie Robins (Eddie) of Virginia; sister Verna Bowling (Eric) of Kentucky; Wayne Smith (Telisa) of Kentucky; brother Terry Smith (Trish) of Kentucky and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2019, at the Blackstar Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Charles Mosley, Rev. Tom Elliott and Rev. J.C. Craig presiding. Music will be provided the Blackstar Church Singers.

Interment will follow in the Tackett Hill Cemetery at Hulen, KY. Pallbearers will be Lance Rimel, Rick Miracle, David Johnson, Dave Morris, Charles Burke and Jerry Burke.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: The PCT Group of London, KY.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27, at the Creech Funeral Home.
